Proxy with authentication, does anyone know how to set it?

I have rooted my dhd and flash with latest version of MIUI. I just wondering how to set proxy setting in my mobile? I had set the proxy column to http://usernamewd@proxyurl and port to 8080, but then my browser and proxy setting got error and force closing once i try to open it. Forgive...
