Did you cleared you google services data to get the oreo update? If yes then that is the reason... otherwise try reinstalling the app, also check in it's settings what are the options for notifications...
Ok... first are you absolutely sure you are entering the right pin (or password).
There is no way to hack it... the only thing you can do now is to hard reset it and apply all from the beginning...
