worth flashing instead of official rom?

i recently bought a Mi 8 Global and came across this site, because the official ROM has some features missing/bugs like no notifications on AOD. i was wondering if it was worth flashing this version(MIUI 10.2 8.11.1) also the official rom is still on android 8.1 and this one is android 9
