Is there a way to set the AOD to be enabled all the time, even in a dark room and the smartphone not moving? It was running all the time, some updates ago, but recently xiaomi seems to have changed this. I don't like that change.

I am still on 9.4.11, but I did have problems with battery drain (no deepsleep). Solution for me: Disable Face Unlock. After 24h I enabled Face Unlock again and it still seems to work.

Thanks a lot. I didn't know there's a new TWRP with a working nandroid restore capability. I was too lazy to try them myself and just hoped that 3.2.3-1208 keeps working with newer ROM releases

I flashed it using TWRP 3.2.3-1208. Kind of an old version. But If I were in your situation I would try a new TWRP version. There is not much else you could do.
