    While Mi9 has a much more powerful camera hardware than Mi9 SE, it makes worse pictures, because Mi9 SE has a better camera software. In theory they could update camera software aswell for the Mi9.

    Mi9 is great, but not water resistant! And you have to do a very complicated unlocking procedure and then flash the ROM via TWRP to get regularly updates. Otherwise you stuck at Android 9. But we can help you with that.

    You are using the wrong version with Android 9. I think the latest security patch level is only for Android 10. Download and install that 11-10 rom, not 11-9. If that's availbale for your device.
