Did you try to open the case near the smartphone? I've seen even in older miui where animation was present, that if you just open the case staying far from the phone, it just connect the bluetooth, and if you open it near the phone it shows the animation... I know that animation works with NFC...

Animation when connecting Xiaomi Air Tws2 still not present... This earphones should be paired when opening the case, via NFC... But it doesn't work... I had to pair it from bluetooth... I hope you will bring back this function from previous miui 11 release
