@Jimnasium I think you misread my answer, we say exactly the same thing : China device + Global ROM + locked bootloader = brick. (The original question asked if it was possible to flash the Global ROM on a China device without unlocking)

If they did that, it would be very simple, because there is no official EEA or global weekly ROM. And if the Houji-EEA was based on the China ROM, it would be broken all the same.

@Jor_BU You can downgrade to MIUI 13 if you want, but I would say the data loss is pretty much guaranteed, going back a full version of MIUI and Android. Also keep in mind the GPay module doesn't work on old ROMs either.

@Jor_BU The previous MIUI 14 versions are no longer available (if only because they were not compatible with the GPay module, and the team had to re-release the MIUI14 ROM for all models multiple times in November and December). You can downgrade, but a clean install is recommended.

Launch the script from the command line instead of click, then you should be able to see the errors more clearly

Hopefully someone will be able to help you, but keep in mind it is a custom ROM forum, not a lot of people will have this level of hardware knowledge.

System apps are not updated manually

You can't downgrade that easily. As far as I know, the only solution would be to unlock your bootloader and install an older custom ROM, but I could not find any for this device during my quick search.

I don't think older MIUI 14 versions are available, if only because they were not compatible with the new GPay module. You can check the MIUI13 ROMs

This feature is an external service, I am not really surprised if it requires to setup the phone.
