Having the same issue, freeze occuring randomly that lead me to reboot my phone. Nevermind I got it to work with TWRP, I was just a bit scared to mess thing up xd

I can't get it to install with SAI, MT-Manager technique nor Google Package Installer... Do I need to try with TWRP and ADB or is it a lost cause?

Try this (Since it's solved it for me) - Clean Install - Disable all automatic sync (Xiaomi Cloud and Google) - Optional: Try "Naptime" on Play Store if you still have battery leak (It forces Doze mode) I was having huge battery leaks too, and those steps fixed it. Hoping it will for you too ^^

Can you send your battery usage stats please? I was having issue too with big battery leak but solved it by looking at my battery usage stats and a clean install
