FYI: Google FI and maybe some other services need manual APN modifications to work

I just got this phone in the USA and realized it picked up my google fi for data but SMS, calling, etc. didn't work at all. Turns out Xiaomi has some odd or outdated APNs for google fi and I assume other non-chinese brands. I crossed checked the apn, discovered they were wrong on the device...
