Thanks for the reply, I see now, after 5 seconds my display also goes off (not restarts, sorry) but so does the flash light... Any thoughts on how to change this so that my flash light stays on after 5 seconds? What is causing the flash light to go off when the display goes off?

When on the lock screen, by holding in the home button it should activate the flash light and keep it active until the home button is released... What is happening is if you hold the home button in for longer than 5 seconds then the flash light goes off and the phone restarts. Any one else...
