    Bit old this topic but maybe someone is still interested.... I have also the Redmi 4 prime and the last available MIUI/Android version was not enough for me. So I installed Lineage OS on it and now I have Android 11 ...works fine though it's not MIUI.

    Hi Luigi, yes, a factory reset will delete all your personel stuff, including the Mi credentials. Some years ago I've had a similiar problem and this solved it. But don't forget to backup your important stuff before ;)
