I agree. I do my charging through an external battery dock charger and also have an extra battery. It is also useful on-the-go.

I think the problem arises because of a heating issue. So many people with the same problem.

Update on the repair. :) These are the only things you need to make sure.

Exactly the same. There are stickers on the back that you need to remove for the glue to stick and hold inside the panel. That's how the replacement came. The white is the removed sticker.

Hi. I got it from ibuygou team. No online order. They were kind enough to arrange for the product from Xiaomi. You'll know the difference when you start the phone. The new module changes the Xiaomi logo into a blue glow instead of orange and there in an Official Snapdragon Logo in the start screen.

And. Fyi. The repair is very easy. You just need to remove the screws and unclip the module. There are two clips. One a wire in the left side other the actual module connecting to the circuit board. You have to be careful after installation that it fits correctly. The speaker is a separate...

Hi. I was able to solve the problem. I found a part replacement. Xiaomi has fixed the same and released an updated module. I got it for USD 14 from where I got the mobile. Changed it today. Phone works perfect. No issues. :) :D

The part is hard to get. I will also get in touch directly with Xiaomi.

So I was able to solder a new Micro-USB port on the phone. Unfortunately that didn't fix the issue. The whole module needs replacement. Not just the micro-usb port. Tough luck finding that.

Update. My phone was not charging any longer. Took it apart. Looking for this defective part replacement. Need a replacement for this. Unable to find it. Anyone?

I agree. I am searching for the flex cable too. Soldering is a pain for such tiny stuff.

I found a fix online after some searching. But you need a replacement part - Micro USB Flex cable. Its a small circuit board with the connector. I asked Ibuygou and they said they don't have it. Or this is available on ebay: http://tinyurl.com/ms3ateq That's a replacement micro-USB port. Need...

Use scotch tape to press the usb down onto the connector. Scotch tape leaves no glue residue. Need to find a fix for this soon. I emailed ibuygou support.

That's how I was able to charge my phone now. Bought the phone in May. Problem with the whole lot? Problems become worst. Yes. My bet is that the solder is bad/cracked for the USB port on the board. Hence unable to charge normally.

Oh my. I have been facing the exact same problem for the past week. There is no dust built in the port and I need to weigh it down to charge it. I used scotch tape to press the connector down and charge it fully. I am figuring out a way to fix it. :(
