New Android auto Mi 8 SE

Hi, currently using 8.12.13 which is android P based. Android auto works on the phone but when i connect to the car, the screen is all pixelated and laggy and i cant use it, already tried developer mode in AA.
With android O roms i was getting the well known black bars, know the screen is in place but its unusable.
Anyone with the same problem?

Have you had any other bug with the ROM? Just seeing if I should upgrade.
