Hello everyone,

I am planning to buy a Poco F2 Pro this week but I am still confused (even after 3h of research) over the type of versions and the ROM.
So I understand that there is the same type of phone but with 2 different types of software installed (generally speaking) :
- chinese version : Poco that has from stock the chinese software installed
- "international" version : Poco that has from stock a international compatible software installed

I see that there are many sellers saying that they sell a "international version" but they actually open the box and install the International ROM saying that it's an international version...

Are there any downsides (beside the possible network problem) with this type of phone? If one day my phone gets a virus and I have to hard reset the phone, what ROM will I have?

Thanks in advance,
F

There is no Chinese POCO ROM. If you see a Redmi logo on the device, it's Redmi K30 Pro (with a Chinese ROM), if you see POCO logo, it's POCO F2 Pro (with a Global ROM). Hard resetting the phone doesn't change your ROM, it just wipes the data.

Thank you so much for your answer*.

It it very confusing bcz some sellers say they sell the global version but they open the box to install a ROM...

For example, these guys on alixpres are saying it is the ''global version" but in the bottom of the page they say they open the box to install the ROM...

Would this be considered Global version or it is a chinese version phone with a custom (global) ROM installed?

I just heard that might be some issues with the updates or network if you have a chinese version phone that has a global ROM install over the stock.

Thanks....

Like I explained, it can't be a Chinese version phone, because for POCO devices there is no such thing. POCO devices are either Global-exclusive or India-exclusive, so there can be no Chinese ROM for POCO devices. The claim that they "open the box to install a ROM" might be a general disclaimer for all of the devices they sell, because this kind of procedure is needed for devices which are sold in China and come with a China ROM by default, but it's just not a possible scenario in the case of POCO-branded devices.
