Custom Kernels no longer working?

Hi

Anybody know why custom kernels no longer work with the latest rom releases?
Perhaps its device specific, in not sure. I've got a SGS GT-I9000.

Just gets stuck at boot screen after flashing custom kernel.

Others have reported having issues as well.

yes same here probably because the miui kernal is up to date and any others arent so it screws with the startup?

stock kernal is fine, can overclock, and has voodoo sound v10

Yeah the stock kernel is fine, although I still prefer Zach's neo kernels.

The problem is that the only place to get the stock Kernel is from the MIUI sites as all roms that come built with the stock kernel are removed from sites like XDA. XDA requires that the stock MIUI kernel not be included in the roms for legal reasons.
