Error: MMI Code problem

Hi,

I am using the latest MIUI v2.6.16 on my Xiaomi Mi One Plus. When typing *128# to check my balance I am always getting this error: "Connection problem or Invalid MMI Code".
Can anyone help me? I am desperate to find the solution.
