eSIM on Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G

Hello guys, i have an issue with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G (Model: 23090RA98G); i bought it like 8 months ago from amazon and for some reason it doesn't show the option for eSIM in the settings and i only have 2 physical cards option.
I live in italy and i think i use the global rom?
I also tried the esim compatibility checker app and it says that it's supported. what can i do to make it appear?

i've seen the discussion but i don't understand what and how can i flash the modem.img, and also if it will delete my data and if it will to reset my phone.

1. if you are using the official Global ROM, try changing the region/area in the settings. This affects the accessibility of eSIM activation/function.
2. if you are using the xiaomi.eu custom ROM, try installing the Global Modem (you will not lose any data)

nono, i'm using the official global rom, so i will try to change region to check if it works (i had it on united states).

thanks for your help, it worked. i put as a country my country (italy) and it showed the option.
