Fingerprint Problem

I understand how the fingerprint scanner works. I've successfully registered my fingerprints without any problem. However once the phone is locked, I can only try once and the fingerprint won't work again after that.

I've tried rebooting and did the first unlock, but I still couldn't use the fingerprint later despite managing to remove and add the fingerprints successfully.

Currently on 7.7.13 with Redmi Note 4x. This problem just occurred when I woke up in the morning.

The fingerprint seems to stop working after failing to scan my right index finger. But, it does not have any problem scanning any other fingers.

Currently on AOSP Extended for experimenting purposes regarding my fingerprint problem.
