Hi @ll,

I want to buy a Redmi Pro to offer my girlfriend.
The problem is that is advertised as "chinese and english version" (gea**est).
Does anyone knows if it's a fake rom?
If it is, what should I do after: first flash it with a "legal" rom and only after with a weekly one? Or can I do it directly?

And if it's a brand rom (chinese) I must unlock the bootloader everytime before trying to flash it or can I directly do it via fastboot?

Sorry for all the questions.

Greetings

The Official ROM has only English and Chinese ROM, Third Party Dealers like Bang..d and Aliexpr..s will send the phone with an Unofficial ROM names as Global, but you can easily ask Xiaomi for unlocking bootloader and then flash a TWRP and then flash any ROM, most of us uses the Xiaomi.eu rom.
So,yes there isn't Global ROM but it's not a big deal. Use Xiaomi.eu ROM instead or Cook this Rom and add any language you want to the ROM.

When you unlock your bootloader then you don't have to unlock it again and again(if you don't lock it yourself)
you can flash just official ROM via fastboot with Miflash on a Locked bootloader phone.
So, just unlock it once and then flash a TWRP and then you can flash any ROM easily with TWRP or Fastboot.
