Hide apps or folder

Hi is there any way to hide apps or a complete folder, because when you install for example agenda widget it also shows up as an app and i dont want that so i want to hide it. There are serval other apps so i put them all in a folder is it possible to just hide this folder?

I dont care if i would have to install a mod or something but it bothers me alot! I also heard that i could hide them tough "acces control" the only thing i find there is a way to put on a pattern to open them
