Mi8 update form 8.8.30 eu to latest version

Can anyone explain the step to update mi8 to the latest version without wipe data?

I am using 8.8.30 eu and TWRP 3.2.3-0918. i have install magisk 17.2.

I have try to update 8.10.12 and case bootloop without factory reset, so rollback to 8.8.30.

there is no step to step... for some users it worked, for other (the most) not.

do a local backup, copy the miui folder to your pc... (to be safe)

and try to upgrade, if it fails, then it will never work (OREO TO PIE)

then you have to wipe/format data.

install new fw, copy MIUI folder (backup folder) back to phone, and restore it

How can I do the Local backup?

Is local backup can backup all 3rd party apps with data ,system setting and launcher layout?
