New Munch 14.0.9.0 phone services battery drain + can't activate mi message

As the title says, after clean installing with a data wipe phone services uses a ton of battery and I can't seem to enable the mi message back up? It asks me to fill in my phone number but then does nothing, I can receive other messages without any problems.

I have the same problem on a POCO x6 5g while phone is idle, clean install of xiaomi.eu OS.

I had to install the modem firmware from http://xmfirmwareupdater.com/miui/garnet/ for the phone functionality to work (europeean here).

Just to describe more precisely the battery problem, here is a screenshot of the drain during the night (going from 100% to 50% in 6 hours). I did not had this problem using stock rom.
