[new To Flashing]some Questions About Updating Rom

Hello,

I had some issues with global ROM and decided to flash MIUI 8.6 / 7.6.25 Android 7.0 NRD90M from xiaomi.eu

It is great but I have few questions:
1. When I check for updates I find none even though I can see ROMs are released weekly.
2. When I downloaded ROM for MIUI 9 - 7.9.7/8 can I use updater -> "Choose update packege" to upgrade? or do I need to use that TWERP thingy again?
3. If I need to use TWERP is there a way to update without wiping phone? I would hate to setup all the apps again even with MI Backup active as it takes long time and then need to provide user password for all the apps.
4. Are people updating ROM weekly by going through all above process? Seems like a lot of work.

You can use updater app choose update package. Also if you want to use TWRP for some reason, you DON'T need to wipe.

I used updater and showed zip packege and phone restarted to this screen:

1. reboot
2. wipe data
3. connect with MIAssistant

I choose reboot but nothing happened. When I started the phone it just started and I'm still on 7.6.25

Try to install via TWRP, you don't need to wipe. Just click install. Make sure you have the right zip package.

Everything works so far, the only thing is that I had quick function for GPS to turn on/off when I need it and it is missing and I cannot find how to add it...

You're very welcome and to add the gps toggle, open settings and search for toggle positions.

it is there but I can't add it to home screen. It is missing in quick functions widget. And I had it before and it was working fine...

I actually just flashed miui again (coming from paranoid android). It's now booting up, I'll let you know if I can get it to work
