New to XiaoMi

I tried to look for an answer to the question below on the forums and faqs here...

I bought a XiaoMi MI2S and currently running version JLB20.0 which updated automatically about a week ago.

What's the difference between this version and the ROMs that can be downloaded on this website?
Are there any advantages to either?

Rom you can download here is multilang, rooted, with google services. It is developer rom.

Does installing it mean loosing any apps or data (assuming nothing goes wrong)?

Yes, you should do wipe after flash. These roms are not compatible. Do backup first. But you only loose data this time, if you keep updating multilang after that, there is no need for wipe.
