Not receiving text notifications from 3rd party apps

I have the latest MIUI. Im using Handcent as my mms program, however when I turn off notifications for the stock program I wont get any notifications from Handcent. It only shows up on the lock screen message tab on the right. When the stock program notification is on I don't get double notifications. I get just the notification from the stock app. I've also tried using GoSMS but had the same issue. Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

I have Handcent too. Did you make sure Handcent notifications are on as well? Sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling handcent will help.

May need to select allow third party apps under Messaging > Settings.
