Hi All,
Just got my new Note 3 shipped with MIUI 9.1.3.0 and I cannot connect to wifi. I log into the network with the password but the phone gives me "Failed to obtain IP address" message. I tried the following:
1. Reboot device;
2. Forget the network;
3. Checked the device name (I read this may present an issue if device is named with some strange symbols);
4. Choose Static IP setting as opposed to DHCP.
The latter allowed to at least to connect to the modem. But still the device is offline.
I have also a Mi 5 running on MIUI 9.0.3.0 and it works perfectly with my modem. Therefore I do not think this is a modem related issue.
The modem transmits both 2.4G and 5G at the same time from what I understand. However, Note 3 is picking link speed at 173Mbps and Mi5 has >400Mbps. This is the only parameter that seems to differ on both phones.
Have any of you encountered such issues or would have any suggestions how to resolve this? I would be grateful for any advices. It is such a pity I cannot use the phone which I waited to receive for a month!
