Notifications when "Display always on"

Hi guys.
I have a Mi 8 with xiaomi.eu 8.8.16 rom and everything works well. But when I use "Display always on", there aren't notifications: I have to press the power button to see them on lockscreen. Some users said it's a problem of MIUI 10 and that on MIUI 9.5 notifications works well when display is always on.
So I'm looking for someone to confirm that. Also, if they works, which 9.5 release do you recommend (according to battery drain etc)?

you answered your own question in first post.

On miui 10 it doesnt work ( good )
On miui 9.5 is all good. When you want it, stay/or go to miuii 9.5
