another newbie .. sorry for the ignorance .. please any step by step simple instructions would be soo great ..
Issue my son has a Xiaomi redmi note 10 pro. He went to school one day and put his phone away (locker). When he came back he managed to access his phone without any security, and it was on the default screen and theme. His data was still present and apps. He rebooted his phone and the first screen was the MIUI 14 logo large in the middle of white background and an arrow key to move to next screen, next screen choose language, then region, then terms and conditions etc .. ie I am guessing phone has updated or reset .. anyway next screen check SIM ( now removed as he has it in another phone) then connect to network. Once connected to home wifi click next and it is stuck on a blue spinning ring on white background. Just keeps on spinning forever... left like this for several days and it goes nowhere. Rebooted .. rebooted into safe mode.. tried recovery screen and connect with MIAssistant .. MIAssistant on PC doesn't recognise phone ( possibly drivers which I am going to find and install next)
Don't want to wipe data unless last resort as this teenager never had a backup ...

Note phone never had custom rom or rooted .. just straight out the box standard phone and software in the UK.. Phone is approx. 2.5yrs old ...
Has anyone seen this before .. I have searched web for a week or 2 and not found anyone with the same issue … seen plenty with boot loop .. but this doesn't sound like the same issue. Any help would be great .. I am also reading into adding a custom ROM .. but don't have a clue where to start. I think I need to download the drivers, flash tool and TWRP ( I think it is). I have rooted my phone before ( Chinese Redmi Note 12T pro) but not found a non Chinese ROM for it yet so don't know how to flash these things yet.
