Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 2019 GINGKO, Chinese model with unlocked bootloader and Global Rom, Chinese stock recovery changed to english (done by phone shop, so I don't know what else they did) 12.5.2.0 stable RCOINXM, Android 11.
joeykrim rootchecker says phone is not rooted.
Global works, but can't use banking/payment Apps and Digital ID(that is forced upon us by our government in Denmark, I live in the Philippines.
I have been trying for months to get Play store working in Chinese stock rom, to no avail. And then I read that Magisk can be used with Magiskhide to hide the unlocked bootloader and show it as locked, so I would like to try that.
So I am asking for a 2024 guide on how to do that, and before anything, install custom recovery. A couple of questions:
1. Do I need Custom recovery to use 2024 Magisk and Magiskhide?
2. Will Installing custom recovery wipe the phone?
3. Do I need to root phone to use Magisk?
A Note: Fastboot doesn't look like any of the screenshots on the net, mine is just saying FASTBOOT in orange letters(no icons or tilted robot), which lead me to think something is a bit off here, and I hope one of you can explain that. Could it be a leftover from what phone shop did(maybe they used Orangefox recovery to flash and then replaced it with stock)?

PS off topic: Do anyone know an online dealer that sells Original Genuine Redmi Note 7 batteries, Mi Service center here claim that there are no batteries left in their warehouse, and I need a new battery for my Redmi Note 7 Global version, right now I can only use it with charger attached. I already got scammed before with fake battery from Lazada.
