Problems on my droid

Alright im having 2 problems first one is: whenever im using the slide out keyboard on my droid and i press C it takes me too contacts and other letters take me to browser etc. How do i turnoff these shortcuts?

When flashing a new MIUI do i have to do factory/data reset because i dont want to lose all my apps and everything.

Im using MIUI GR140
