It is mostly updated via OTA when everything is alright (as in you don't need your Pc, it is not as integrated as the official ROM). Keep in mind different factors can prevent the upgrade to go perfectly, so you need to be prepared to manually launch TWRP, or even use fastboot depending on the situation. Some versions of the ROM are even only fastboot, as far as I know.
