Remove Miui?

I just got a Xiaomi phone (Redmi 2), and I am a complete newbie to it. However, it is running MiUI which has numerous flaws in my opinion, such as the lack of an app drawer and an inefficient settings menu. I have tried various launchers which fix some of these flaws (e.g. app drawer) but things such as the settings menu still remain. I like the default setup of the Google Nexus 6 phone I have, which uses the Google Now launcher, runs the latest Android and gives an enjoyable experience.

In a nutshell:Could I completely erase MiUi and have Xiaomi running an operating system similar to that of a Google Nexus phone (or replicated as close as possible)?
