Root Xiaomi Mi5

I'm trying to root my mi5. I have developer version with MIUI 7 6.3.31.
I've tried using kingroot, and similar but they all fail... Does anybody know anything about it?.

Try this one I use on my RN2 in the beginning and it works, if not try unlock bootloader and after that root it again

Already tried that one too... No luck so far... To unlock the bootloader I need to make a petition to xiaomi... Already did... But I've heard they might not respond quickly... around 20 days .
Is there another way to unlock the bootloader?

Hello, I have a mi5 too, with stable 7.2 and I want to unlock this phone. When I follow the steps (first unlock it), I come in some Chinese whatever thing. I don't understand what to do.

Anyone knows what to do to unlock?
Install twrp and the dev ROM multilang Gemini is no problem.

unlocked bootloader must be!
exact instructions how to flash MultiROM will be available tomorrow but I guess:
it is necessary to flash modded boot.img via fastboot (from multi ROM)
boot to twrp, flash ROM, wipe cache and dalvik
boot to system
restart to TWRP, flash supersu

You won't receive a code, just a message that your request has been approved.
After that you just download Mi Unlock Tool and unlock your mi5.
(Mi unlock tool will be on en.miui.com/unlock after you receive the approval message.

i tried SuperSu 2.71 via TWRP. but ES Fileexplorer did not notice root, adfree was working. than changed zo SuperSu 2.67 via TWRP which is working with adfree and ES

Hello, I received the message and unlocked my mi5 with the unlocktool. After this I installed TWRP + Boot and tried to install the rom via updater app, but there is no TWRP and my device can not find the package.
What did i do wrong?

Mhm, I'm not sure why you installed TWRP if you want to install rom via updater app.
Just download twrp + boot.img again, reboot to fastboot mode, type: "fastboot devices" to check if your device is seen by fastboot, then type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", then type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" then either hold volume up + power button or type in fastboot "fastboot boot recovery.img", you will be in TWRP, now go to install section and choose zip with ROM.

2. In the folder shift + right mouse click, together. Select open cmd here.
3. Reboot your phone to fastboot mode.
