Hello,

Since the beginning of November, I've been having a problem with excessive battery drain on my phone.

I have an unlocked Xiaomi Mi 15 Ultra running xiaomi.eu HyperOS 3.

It's rooted with Magisk to use AdAway, Integrity Fixer, and the F-Droid privileged extension.

I've been using this phone like this for months (and even years with previous phones).

But since the beginning of November, I have to charge the battery two or three times a day without doing much to no work on the phone, and it can even go up to five or six times a day if I use the phone a bit intensively.
After some testing, this seems to be related to rooting. Before, rooting didn't change anything regarding battery consumption.
If I remove root access, the problem disappears. If I restore it, with just the minimum hosts file, after a few minutes/hours the battery usage explodes.

When I check the battery settings, the battery drain is listed as coming from "Android system" without any further explanation or any way to change it.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and have any ideas on how to fix this battery issue related to the "Android system" process?

I would appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Hello,
The solution was given to me in my XDA post.

I'm sharing it here so it might help others.

In my case, it seems that AdAway was the source of the problem, causing excessive battery drain. I uninstalled AdAway and installed BlockAds, and the battery is now working perfectly normally with usage.

(It's also possible to further improve battery life by using the XtremeBS module.)

Have a nice day.

Sincerely,
