Xiaomi 12 pro slow and lagging

Just got the 12 pro , previously had 10 note pro.
The 12 seems very slow and lags even with a couple of apps open, not very responsive at all and so far less than impressed.
Any ideas to why, is it the 12system or faulty phone perhaps? Any advice appreciated

It is most likely due to the fact that (I assume) you just got the phone, it's slow and laggy because the system is still adjusting and doing background optimisations according to your usage. I'd suggest to wait it out a few days and see if it gets better. But if you don't want to wait, I'd suggest to hook it up to a computer and run this adb command:

adb shell cmd package bg-dexopt-job

This command compiles applications into the most efficient code and thus makes apps run better as well as making battery backup better
