I have been very happy with the custom ROM by xiaomi.eu during several years, starting with Xiaomi 11 Ultra, then with the 14 Ultra... unfortunatly Google decided quite a while ago to block each time more Google services on custom ROMS, like system backups, NFC stopped working, Google Pay wallet would not validate the Cards, WhatsApp lost the automatic sync with the contacts from my Google account...
So with the help of AI guidance, installing latest ADB tools, Mi Flash standalone tool I proceeded to flash the chinese ROM, selection only clean, but not clean and lock. The locking of the bootloader I made separately after having checked that the Chinese ROM was efficiently installed. The bootloader has been locked also fromthe PC via fastboot and ADB command.
Configuring the Chinese ROM seemed to be impossible to register a PIN or pattern, nor fingerprints... until i activated the Basic Google Services, then miraculously it worked. Result: I now have a perfectly working original Chinese ROM, which I already tweaked obviously, eliminating all chinese apps I could, added portuguese language with the app SetEdit, which obviously doesn't work for system apps, and only partially in some Google apps, but perfectly in any other downloaded not system app.
See the attached file for some more insight.
It's a time consuming process but worth it, if you don't want to brick your device
