Hello everyone.
I have a problem with my Mi 9T Pro.
Whenever I connect it to any 4 computers I have access to, I get this pop up message: The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it - Device manager shows Unknown usb device (Device descriptor request failed), on properties it gives me code 43.
I haven't been able to connect my mi9 on pc for a year or two, I never noticed this error on device manager, only noticed it last sunday.
I tried to connect it on 4 different computers. I do hear the sound of a usb device connected but it never works as it should work. I get the windows popup notification on all 4 computers.
1 laptop windows 7
1 laptop windows 10 32x
2 desktop windows 10 64x
MIUI version is 12.5.2 Stable, 12.5.2.0(RFKMIXM) never rooted or had any other modification.
Windows 10 64x
Steps I already tried on my main desktop with win 10 64x.
- Did factory reset
- Wiped data using volume up+power
- Tried different ports, different cables, even bought a new one from Baseus but no solution.
- windows troubleshooting using msdt.exe -id devicediagnostic
- sfcscan found nothing wrong
- Updated motherboard and other drivers
- Uninstalled USB drivers and let it reinstall again when restarting computer. Device descriptor request failed message shows again on USB
- Installed drivers from Toll all in one.
- Installed wpdmtp.inf
- Updated USB drivers, tried different ones, generic, windows, qualcomm, none seems change the problem.
- USB debug on dev mode is on, tried to turn it off also, didn't work.
It never recognized as MTP or a disk., also never got MTP notification on phone, notifications on apps > notification were already on.
- Changed default usb config several times on dev mode, I only get the usb connected sound on windows whenever I change it, but device manager still shows device descriptor request failed.
- Installed drivers from qualcomm, windows.
- Mi Unlock and mi flash doesnt recognize my phone, nothing works when I start my phone on fastboot, besides device manager telling me device descriptor request failed.
- Tried Tool All in One.
Mi 9T Pro doesn't appear on it, tried with MI 6 and it shows up in a second.
- adb can't find my mi9t pro, works fines on mi6
- Changed usb power settings
- Tried something on regedit enable enhanced something on the device, found it somewhere on the web
- Tried on linux, Mi9 didn't even show up there, Mi6 worked fine.
- Installed mobile adb update on windows update.
Also Mi6 shows as Android Bootloader Interface on device manager. Mi9 shows up on USB controllers with the message
So far none of these steps worked, my phone is still not able to connect to pc via USB, My phone works normal, I can connect it via ftp, use it without a problem, it just can't connect to any computer I've tried via USB. I want it to connect via USB because I want to try to recover some audio files I forgot to backup.
Since it doesn't work on different computers, I thought it could it be a malfunction on the usb c port. Is it possible? Are they any other steps I could try?
