Gmail Notifications

Hi. Gmail push notifications appear sporadically. Sometimes works, but sometimes does not. I believe that I already tried everything that is posted on the internet. I am with MIUI 9.1. by xioami.eu (none of the last ~10 updates helped).

1)Battery saver for gmail is turned off
2)Autostart - on
3)Gmail is locked in recent apps
4)Notifications are on
5)Data usage - WLAN, Data
6)Background process limit - Standard
7)Memory optimization - Off
8)Cleared the cache (both app and rom)

Is there anything else that I could try?

Have you tried also to disable the MIUI optimisation ? I can't see any other option.
If not, go to developers options then at the very bottom you can deactivate the MIUI optimisation.

Unfortunately, it is disabled as well. Just forgot to add it to the list.
