Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra "Insert SD card before using camera"

Hey Mi family!

I have just joined the family and got my first phone after months of searching for my perfect phone. I have bought a Mi 11 Ultra. When I turned it on and tried to use the camera I am met with the message "Insert SD card before using camera". I am not sure why it's asking me this, or if I do need a SD card, surely not? I am not great with tech stuff and have seen some posts online already saying about wiping the phone to fit this, which worries me it might remove the ROM or turn it into a chinese ROM. The seller posted 'The phone has bootloader unlocked in order to install latest and greatest Xiaomi EU 12.5.20.0 full OTA support'.

Please could someone advise on what is best do to. I am happy to buy a SD card if that's what is needed. It just seems strange it would need it with 256GB on the phone.

Make backup of you data. Boot in to TWRP, chose WIPE, and than FORMAT DATA, not clear chache or factory reset. I had some bugs, now they are resolved. For now I did not find any bugs, after doing this on my MI 11 Ultra. My bank app works for paying, battery life is good, camera works fine.

I found bugs:

My Google pay doesn't work since update ( card not readable in Display at Cardreader)

The weather widget is cutted at the top edge

Translation bug for "smart home" (description completely in Chinese)

One other thing for ultra users: now there are always auto answer buttons in popup of WhatsApp Instagram and others. Where can I disable them?

i decided to reinstall the previous version with MIUI13 on Android12 on which all works flawless for me.... waiting for next update to see if these real serious bugs will be resolved!

New - SOLUTION to "insert sd card before using camera"

I got my MI 11 pro couple of days ago and found out that I can not upgrade my ROM. From MIUI 12.5 directly to 14.0.13 as my Upgrade app suggested, it just didn't work. Long story short, in two days I performed first ROM flashing in my life a series of upgrades going from 12.5 to 13 and then 14...
