I have updated my mi-one to MIUI v4 in April and since then I have been using only system one. I have never tried using the system two, but recently I wanted to boot into system 2 and install the latest update.

When i try to boot into recovery, reboot->system partition 2, my phone ends up loading forever on the MI screen. Normally, when i boot into system one, the MI screen comes up and later it gets animated to gold color, after while the phone is booted and ready to use. Whereas with system 2, it stays in the MI screen. The MI logo doesnt even turn to gold color and is stuck up there.

I have tried deleted all data and reinstalling the latest update in both system one & two, but seems like i cant boot into system two, whatever i do. guys, please help me wid suggestions on getting this system two to use !!

Have you remembered to update the partitions in the recovery menu?

Do a full wipe of the entire phone (do a backup so you dont loose stuff)
Was both systems on ICS or do you ICS on system one and GB on system two?

If none of them works you might consider doing a complete re-flash :)

Thanks for your reply 'blackstones'

well, I did update the partitions when i moved to MIUI V4. And now, even if i try "Update System Partitions" in recovery, it says partitions already updated, showing a smiley :)

After updating the partition and moving over to v4, i have always used only system one and never did i try to boot into system two at all. only recently i thought i will try using system two for a change.. and this is the issue. So i dont think there is any specific installation i had in system two at all !! The problem is, it doesnt boot into system two, for me to verify what it is actually running !!

Once i try booting into system two, it will end up in a boot screen showin M1 for ever, and i remove the battery, boot back into recovery, try wiping all data, flash update.zip (latest v4) and try booting(to system two), again nothing happens. After a few trials, i came back to system one, which works perfectly fine ( i did a backup of all my apps, so its easy for me to try other stuff )

What you do is go into recoyver, and do a complete wipe, clean cache and the 3rd thing in the list (forgot what its called)
Then go and boot into system two and see if that helps. If not then you might have to re-flash the entire phone

Tried that & it didnt help !!
How to do a complete re-flash ? any specific steps to follow & softwares to use?

BTW.. is there any custom kernel that can be used with MIUI v4 on mi-one ? I would like to use some custom kernels & a recovery that can allow me flash mods like beats audio, rom manager etc :)

Millet phone ROM download
Different versions of the millet phone download from xiaomi including Android Gingerbread
I have downloaded the Wire Brush 201MB (2.6.16) for Mi-One Plus Unicom (because Unicom is writted on my phone) but it looks like it is an EXE file.
I also downloaded the Mi-Flash exe file. Can i get a linux version of these files ? or is it necessary for me to load windows ?

off late, I have observed that my phone has slowed down a lot. Yesterday, I did a reboot to recovery & re-flashed the update.zip (2.6.16) after wiping all data and run a back up of my apps on booting to system one. Even after this, the phone seems slow and coming back to home screen from any application, leads to a blank screen and home widgets loading in 2 to 3 seconds slowly. !!!
Anything wrong with my mobile ?

there is only a windows version of these tools i havent seen linux or mac versions yet :)

I have downloaded and flashed the 2.6.16 fastboot.exe via Mi-Flash. It said success & phone rebooted to a chinese ROM.

I checked booting into both paritions one after the other and both have been updated to chinese versions.

Now, i downloaded the latest 2.6.22 update.zip file, boot into recovery & flashed. Reboot-> System one(latest) it works, showing the latest updated english version.
Later, I reboot to recovery, select reboot-> system two. Now after system two boots, it shows some chinese ROM only. So, i boot into recovery, Wipe ALL Data, Flash update.zip again, reboot to system two (latest) .. it still shows chinese, with a lot of force close stuff !

basically i understand, i have the latest 2.6.22 on system one & 2.6.16 chinese on system two! how to get rid of this chinese thing ?

I observe that in recovery the flash update.zip option by default says "flash update.zip to system one", so does that mean the system two will stay forever in chinese ? I am glad I could atleast boot into both systems now, but one will anyway be useless if it is gng to stay chinese !! I am not knowing what to do and how to handle this now !

I even tried booting into chinese system two, go to updater, flash update.zip from here itself.. but no go !system two still remains chinese !

you can try as following steps
1.find”设置“(settings) and click
2.find"全部设置"(full settings) and click
3.find”语言和输入法“(language and keyboard) and click
4.find"语言"(language) and click
5.English (United states) and enjoy~

you can also flash your 2.6.22 update.zip file in your system 1 via system updater app and then your system 2 will be 2.6.22. miui updater always updates the partition different from the current one.

hope that helps
