Good morning,

I am new to this forum and since yesterday, the happy owned of a Xiamo M2.

I am coming to an issue with Play Music: all my music is in the Google cloud and I want to download from the google cloud about 15Gb of offline music associated to my Google account using the Play music app.

The issue I have though is that the Google Music app does now allow choosing the partition and it download, by default, the music on the smaller partition, the 3.75Gb one.

Is there a way to change this in any way?

Thank you,
L

I don't think it download to 3.7g partition. How did you check that?

I monitored the storage capacity on the settings and the small partition eventually filled up.I got a warning telling me that the partition was nearly full and to remove files or system would be unstable..

Ok i tested it, and you are right!
On my ICS Pad it puts the files on internal/virtual sdcard like /sdcard/android/data/com.go........music/files as it supposed to do
but on Mi2 it puts files in
/data/data/com.googl..............music/files
there are two things to be suspected for this behavior
1. Android Version (JLB,ICS)
2. App2SD support
my pad have app2sd support but Mi2 dont have. but before it was not a problem because games put data on sdcard on Mi2.
I dont have any JLB phone around me with out MIUI so i cant test it at the moment if its the JLB problem or just the MIUI JLB problem.
can u test it on any other JLB phone keeping in mind the above points?

Thank you for your help Hadron.

I've had a Nexus S and Galaxy nexus in the past (still own the galaxy nexus) and both have only one partition since they are no internal sdcard and it is not an issue on those.

Unfortunately, I don't own a device with an internal sdcard (or jellybean) to try this on so not sure how to progress really..

Do I understand that Miui does not support App2sd at all then? What else could you think off to try and find a solution?

OK. I have resolved this by adapting the solution from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34403529

Instructions go as follows:
1. Open Settings > Application manager > All > Google Play Music
2. Select "Force stop" and "Clear data"
3. Open ROM Toolbox > Root Browser
4. Create the following folder on your SD card /mnt/sdcard/GoogleMusic/files
5. Tap and hold the folder named "files" until menu appears, and select "Create shortcut" at the bottom of the list
6. Navigate to /data/data/com.google.android.music/
7. Select "Create" and the "files" folder should be linked
8. Open "Play Music" app and sync
9. Select "Choose on device music" and it should show the available space on your sd card
10. Profit

Hope this can help someone else.
