Hi All

In these couples of days recently i notice my mi2 battery drain so fast. But what make me Curious is when i turn off the phone and turn it on again the battery indicator drop significantly. I once had 54% battery, then i turn the phone off around a minute and turn it on again, the battery indicator turn to 37%. Its very unusual and strange.

I experience this only this past days after i uprade to v5. But im not sure its the OS issue. Before i try to downgrade to v4, id like to know :

1. Is there any battery calibration apps working in miui? I try one apps and it make the miui crash.
2. Is it possible my battery is leak? Any idea how to check it?
3. Anyone else experience the same battery drain in v5? As seems no one ever report any case in battery.

Thanks a lot

I see where you're coming from, I myself have noticed the odd mass battery drop from screen on/off.

Pretty frustrating coming from v4 with superb battery life.
Ah the perks of beta.

My story is different. After moving to V5 I feel the battery is pretty good!!!

Just drain out the battery and recharge about 3-4 hours after the phone automatically shutdown. I often have this problem after rom update, both v4 and v5

Ah.. lucky you :)
Have you try to turn off and turn on again and notice the battery indicator?

Well, Go back to basics like:

1. Turn off the unwanted apps running in the back ground
2. Wi-fi consumes a lot of power. If you are not using wi-fi it is a good idea to switch it off
3. Reduce the screen brightness

This might help you !!! Try it!!

I havent try your solution. So i suppose to let the battery dry itself and recharge it for 3 hours. Should i put the phone off while charging until 3 hours?

Just now I switch in off/ On again - I did not see any change in the battery levels.

so... why am i replying to this thread again? because it turns out that this wasnt a hardware issue. on last update 3.5.3 my battery works as it used to on v4. i didnt change any battery, charger or usb. And all those drop battery issue were fix on last update...

im wondering why it only happen to few of us.. does it have different hardware on same mi2?

anyway.. the battery just great now on v5 3.5.3 also just update to 3.5.10.

I'm running stock and have experienced better battery life than any MIUI build I've tried.

My battery life is s**t, to put it in one word. Had this on both miui v5 and v4, also getting the massive battery drops after a reboot since v5.

Hi, this was my third day with my mi2s (I've installed miuiandroid rom the last monday) and my experience is quite the same: on the first day with the rom freshly installed the battery lasted from morning till the evening, then I installed some apps (Facebook, Tunein radio, a Twitter client) and now I turn on the phone on the morning, and with moderate use of wifi and a little browsing, at noon the battery is at 25-30%.

PS: I hope my english is understandable (I'm italian)

I've come to think that MIUI requires a full thorough user preference check once you've sorted out your apps and everything etc for your device. It seems all of the ROMs features are fully enforced which causes the immense battery drains.

I spent some time a while ago changing many things; what apps give notifications, turned Google ads off, heaps and heaps of different settings throughout the phone and apps I use, which I personally thought may affect battery life.

Ever since I've done that, my battery life has been much, much better.
