Can anyone make this Camera mod work?

Yes - however nothing happens after that - I basicaly have flashed all the versions one by one.

Always cleared cache, then dalvik, then flash, then clear cache again (just in case) for all the mods in the link - and then when booted I get the normal camera (unmodded one)... theoretically should work as it's based on stock just like MIUI is ... but maybe there is something small preventing it ...

If the flashing doesn't work, you might have to give manual file extracting a shot - placing each of the files in their specific root directories and restarting phone.

Love the skin on this camera!

Any tips on how to do that exactly - I am ready to give it a shot as I really want those modification to work ..

Could it be because the system app is called Camera.apk and the mod tries to push samsungcamera.apk

in /system/app I now have camera.apk and also samsungcamera.apk (which is probably the modded one) ...

what do I do

update : managed to make it work.

after the mod has been flashed I went ahead with root explorer and deleted the containing files in :
/data/data/com.sec.android.app.camera/

then archived the camera.apk (original one)
renamed the samsungcamera.apk to camera.apk (like it is in MIUI normally)

and bang :)

I get a FC when triying to get into the gallery from the camera ... :( what to do ?

how do I see what it is linked to /and change the link/ ?

This is the .zip file ...

nothing additional - just a bunch of folders and files inside the .zip flashable file...

I could post the modified camera.apk file which I renamed and use now instead of the original camera.apk if it will help ...

Hmm, unfortunately I'm not sure what has to be done to link the original gallery app with the new camera apk.

Can you confirm if the gallery works single handedly?

If only some people actually considered a hand..

yeap - it works perfectly fine when used as a stand alone - just not working when envoked through the camera app

here is the FC message:

The only thing I can think of for you to try would be to add the Google gallery apk plus its required lib.so files.

Such can be found in a 4.2 photosphere camera zip, unfortunately I can't fetch a zip for you at the moment but there should be a post somewhere on this forum.

Did so :

Flashed this and now the preview image takes me to the google gallery apk ... not a 100% satisfying solution but at least gets the job done.

still the ultimate goal would be to make the link lead to MIUI Gallery

But thanks Man!

Now we need someone to make the mod work flawlessly :)

Awesome. :)

Could you post some screens as to what the current gallery you're using looks like as opposed to the MIUI version?

Any luck with the skinned camera in the first post? :)

all worked until the last rom flash - and will not undergo the entire procedure just for 1 button and then use an ugly gallery :p

maybe if someone implements a permanent mod to the official ROM ... might think about it :) adding a hardware key bind for the camera would be a good thing

this work?
You comment on a 4 year old thread for a mod that is more than outdated. Don't expect any answer.
Xiaomi doesn't support the Camera2 API but the default MIUI Camera app has manual mode for their official devices since MIUI 6/7.
