That won't happen.

Lol.

The extra reboot option would be nice, but there is an option to do this via the updater app.

thanks for the information :)

why? :)
Because MIUI is for MI-2 and this device doesnt need to be restarted to recovery at all - even for installing updates.
Remember that MIUI is a stock system like TW for Samsung. In TW or Sense there's no such option either. Thus Xiaomi will never put reboot options for MIUI - it just doesnt require it and its not necesarry to have that. The last time I've restarted to recovery was 6 months ago and I was just taking pictures of mi recovery.

Ah yes, excellent point. This isn't something the OEM wants us tinkering with. Miui should be viewed at the same level as sense, touchwiz, other OEM skins.

It adds functionality not found in aosp, as do those other android versions.

Acid, this is off topic, but can you tell me why the stock recovery doesn't clear the cache?

Hm. It wipes dalvik cache with every update. No need to do more.

Yes but the actual cache doesn't wipe from stock recovery.

There's no need to do any wipe besides dalvik when updating MIUI (which is done in updater script).
