Update: Fixed in 1.4.1 :)

Using the new 1.3.25 ROM with Gingerbread (Desire GSM)

I can't seem to change the notification sounds for individual apps like calendar reminders and Gmail notifications. When I choose "select ringtone" from the settings of the app in question, it only gives me 2 options: "Music" and "Theme Manager". I want to use system sounds so Music isn't an option for me, and Theme Manager only seems to set the default notification ringtone, and doesn't set the one for Gmail or Calendar. What this results in is no sound when a calendar reminder fires, or when I get a new email.

Is it just me? Has the "Android System" option been removed from the notification sound choosing options?

I've attached a screenshot of what I'm trying to do, if it helps...

There's an app in the market that gives u all the possible options to change the notifications of each app. I forgot what its called though, but the app exists.

It's not just you. I see the change myself and others have mentioned it in the Nexus One forum. I hope they change or fix this in next week's release.

Thank you both! I did manage to find a workaround using an app called 'rings extended' and root explorer. I hope they do fix it soon.

If anyone's interested in how I did it, just ask and I'll elaborate a bit more.

Sorry to bump an old thread (figure it better than starting a new one) but, 1.6.17 appears to have this issue. For sure with Talk I can't change from silent.

In Gtalk I have this problem even with 1.6.24. I cannot select a ringtone.
