Hi all, I have a little problem with Nova launcher. I configured it to show the Google search bar. But unfortunately it doesn't open Google search but the Xiaomi search.
That wasn't the case weigh the original global ROM.
Does anybody know how to change it?

I have the same issue - any solution?
Is there maybe anyway to totally disable the Xiaomi search app?

Thanks in advance

I am using the recent stable version from this site - can you point me in the right direction?

Settings -> Manage apps -> Search -> Disable.
If "Disable" is grayed-out, then wait for next stable or switch to weekly ROMs.

Sorry to bother - I am using the mi note 3 (Jason). When I look through the settings I can not see 'manage apps'. Only 'system apps' and there is not (not even grayed out) option to disable.
TIA

Only system apps? What? Screenshot.

Hey Igor - I think now I found the right place. I thought system apps and installed apps were two different categories without overlap....
As you said disable is greyed out.
I did just setup this phone - so probably the best way forward is to wait until a stable update enables that button
...

Thanks again

"Installed apps"? Your ROM isn't quite up to date, it's called "Manage apps" now.
Anyways, you can either update to the latest weekly, or try using adb.
Code:
adb shell
pm disable com.android.quicksearchbox

Thanks I will try the ADB approach.
As for not being up-to-date: I just flashed with the latest file from XDA like 10 days ago. The updated says that I am either up-to-date or there is an server issue....

Thanks again

using
"adb shell pm disable com.android.quicksearchbox"
I get the following error message:
"Error: java.lang.SecurityException: Shell cannot change component state for com.android.quicksearchbox/null to 2"

any advice?
TIA

I guess you'd have to be rooted to use this method. In that case, nothing you can do but update the ROM or root.
