After hours of work, I have finally installed latest rom on my mi9. I have some questions that are hunting me:

1. I installed TWRP, should I remove it or keep it? And should I install its "system app" which checks for updates?
2. How can I lock back my bootloader so my data remains safe? Should I even do this?
3. Google keeps asking me if I want to save my password into its service all the time, despite me saying "never". Any way to disable this?
4. Ive noticed Themes app is completly different than stock android, and I can't find the theme i used to have on global version. What should i do?
5. I always get "Find device "Can't activate sim card. what is this for and how can i turn it off?
6. I always get notification that "Updater" is running in the background. What should I do with it?
7. My whatsapp sound is missing! Where could I find it?

Thank you so much :)

Welcome back from work

1. Definitely keep TWRP, in case you screw something up or wish to Install an update, you'll definitely need it. You don't need to Install the companion app, but the choice is all yours.

2. You definitely shouldn't attempt to re-lock your bootloader with a custom ROM Installed, even if that's possible.

3. Once you click NEVER for a particular site/app, it won't ask you again for that site/app. You can also turn it off under Settings - Additional Settings - Languages and Input - Autofill Service (Select None).

4. If you upgraded from MIUI 11, the theme you had might not support MIUI 12. Try searching for the Theme name on the Theme app and reinstall.

5. Find Device needs to confirm your SIM details (and other details) by sending an OTP to the phone number attached to your Mi Account, but you can turn it off under Settings - Mi Account - Xiaomi Cloud - Find Device (Turn it off)

6. Leave the updater notification or turn it off by pressing and holding that notification and toggling it off.

7. Check your WhatsApp settings (Notifications).

BONUS: Xiaomi.eu is not an Official Firmware, it's a custom ROM (a very good one at that). Keep this in mind.

Thank you so much! Yeah, official rom has wrecked havoc on my phone so I decided to go for this custom rom :)

Might you know by any case how can I get global version of Themes?
The good folks at apkmirror have a repository of apks from Xiaomi Global, you can check that out. I'm not certain it'll work though, but you should try.

Yup, did that! But i get "Can't install system applications from unofficial channels" on install attempt.

If you're rooted, you can install it with Split Apk Installer

Edit: May I add that the Xiaomi.eu development team strongly discourage circumventing that particular security feature for the sake of ROM stability.

I am not rooted nor I plan to root my device. I just wish to replace Chinese Themes app with Global Themes.

Global Themes app lacks a lot of features, there are no plans of replacing our app with the Global one until/if Xiaomi Global updates their API to match the API now used for the Chinese Themes app. The Global API just falls behind.

I currently flashed Global Themes app because I really wanted iOS icons. If I ever want to get back previous Themes app provided by xiaomi.eu, how could i do that?
