Hi everyone, Can anyone offer me help to fix my phone? It is a chinese version that has unlocked bootloader and i had flashed MIUI 12 which was running perfectly.
Until i tried to correct the "unable to mount storage" issue that was stopping my phone from updating. The phone is recognised by my computer, i am able to download to it but i am not able to get ADB working as the USB debugging is not turned on. I have formatted and tried flashing new rom, with no luck. TWRP is working. Any suggestions would be much appreciated...

yes ... first step is to tell us your phone model und which version do you want to install. we dont have a glass sphere ...

perhaps you have to do this:

# fastboot boot twrp_your_filename.img

and set a pattern as password

hey thanks for your reply, i put the phone model in the title , its a Xiaomi MI 10 PRO chinese model, fastboot does not work as usb debugging is not turned on.
im unsure of which version i need ...? While using TWRP, my pc connects to the phone. When i boot into fastboot my pc no longer recognises my phone. i have tried downloading a couple of roms which do not seem to properly flash. would flashing new firmware solve this ?

oh I didnt see it with the model, sorry. OK you dont have a Mi10 UMI so search for the TWRP you need in this threade as example. Mount in TWRP the partition you need. Did you try to flash the ROM from TWRP or do you have problems to copy the ROM from PC to TWRP ?

You can flash a fastboot rom, the stable or weekly from xiaomi. Try the trwp from my link and if you have any challenges, you can ask. Please with details what you did, which versions and the error message.

Good luck

Firstly you can try to format data through twrp ..
Enter twrp , choose wipe / format data / type yes and hit enter .. then try to reboot to system without flashing anything..

You will need this twrp to flash latest android 11 EU rom..

I can't understand the reason that you want to flash stock rom .. i think your problem is twrp , you have to use twrp 1206 ..
OK, i think i may need to just start again as i have not had any luck so far. I currently have TWRP 1206 installed, during my attempted to correct the "unable to mount storage" error i have deleted or corrupted the system files that boot to system. unless i need to reinstall TWRP....?

I don't know the procedure you follow and what wipes or formating you made so maybe the best way for you seems that is to start from scratch ..
You didn't mention also your current rom version..
And follow the instructions for correct wiping and installation ..
And beware not to choose to lock bootloader by using flash tool ..

i hopefully will fix my problem and post how i did it here, even if it helps only one other person it will all be worth it :)
But knowing there are people like you and katerpanne that just want to help, really makes these difficult situations that little bit easier! :)

Hmmmmmm, i tried flashing via miflash tool, it flashed all night and i had to disconnect this morning after 31100seconds.
I then forced into Xiaomi emergency recovery, another tip i got from this awesome forum :)
then i connected to wifi and.........
it seems to have found the rom i flashed and is currently updating i think (fingers crossed) :)
ill keep you updated...

i used miflash got an older rom onto phone but it was a global version and i would not recognise the sim card, if i can use a eu version should work right ?

A massive THANK YOU to KATERPANNE AND GKALEN !
THANK YOU BOTH FOR HELPING ME!
Sorry for the shouting , I'm just very happy to have me phone working again!
Flashed Twrp
Then downloaded and copied latest Xiaomi.eu rom to my Mi10Pro
Then flashed rom via Twrp...
It was that simple...
I just made sure when I was using the global rom that doesn't recognise my Sim card that I enabled developer settings and then enabled USB debugging.
So simple good luck everyone, I hope this helps someone else
