Hello guys! Yesterday I installed the latest version available for the redmi note 8 (xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote8_V12.0.1.0.RCOCNXM_v12-11.zip) and after installing I can no longer root the phone and even using twrp, I can no longer format or delete the data partition (in the twrp log shows a series of error messages) . Has anyone had this problem?

This TWRP work fine but now I need the root, did you know how? magisk don't work.

thanks

Redmi Note 8

I'm sorry, staying unrooted. TWRP is root enough for me.
But if something should work inside OS, then it shoud be a magisk version...

so please help me: which twrp for redmi note 8 can do both
1- decryption data
2- flash android 11 rom
many thanks

Which ROM exactly? I have been using it for weeklies for a while now, dirty flashes, no issues.
i wanna dirty upgrade from stable 12.0.1 to 12.0.3 android 11, if i dont format data after flashing then only reboot to twrp, not to system

That still is probably not connected to the TWRP but most likely has something to do with android versions/ROM/etc. If there are no errors in the TWRP. Have you checked the MD5 of the file you are installing?

no, geoanto555 said after flashing andoid 11 with his twrp you have to format data to reboot to system (else will only reboot to twrp, android 10 have not that issue)

Yes, but still has nothing to do with the TWRP. It's about upgrading from Android 10 to Android 11, whatever recovery you would use you'd have to format data partition.

If this is the somewhat peculiar case then your Android 10 will probably use the old encryption that was working with the mauronofrio TWRP which you could use to flash the A11 and then continue with geoanto's from there on in order to have a decrypt method for the new encryption.
