Is it normal that my phone's core miui apps don't get updated?

Apps like security, calendar, weather and system ui are not updated. My phone got 3 updates and despite the fact that there are more recent versions, i didnt see newer versions. Also, my system ui plugin's version got updated to version 13.0.1.32.0, it still doesnt look like miui 13's and the music controls are missing (cast app disappeared). Also there are no indicators forr camera and microphone like it used to

A lot of questions and all of them were answered multiple times, if you could spend the time to search. Yes, it's all normal. That's a Stable ROM, don't expect it to be on par with newer Stables and Weeklies. We update whichever system apps we can with every release, but definitely not sensitive apps like Security app. As for the camera/microphone status bar indicators - enable the feature in Privacy protection settings and learn how it works, it was already answered.

It is enabled but no indicator appears

The indicator is only displayed if (position, camera, microphone) is used by some app in the background.
